I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I
live it is my privilege, my privilege to do for it whatever i can. I want to be
thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder i work the more I live.
I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me; it is a sort of
splendid torch which I’ve got to hold up for the moment, and I want to make it
burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations. ”
○ Think about how i would finish on this opening statement. The effort to
complete the sentence is enlightening...need to think, write more than one
thing..had it but then realized it ain't.
● You are looking for answer to what is the true joy in life. What a gift this time is. This is
true joy in life.
● What drives an artist. Make art more directly accessible to us. Art is around me in me
part of me. By understanding artist choices we can see it's also about us.

purpose is mighty one and it directs the artist. Art is not easy. When we become a parent
we have someone else in their life that's when u have to fulfill your purpose.
● Does that student connect the idea. Last year we did larmey project, larmey miami
young men brutally beaten because he was gay. Out of this story feeling for humanity
comes. In this dark bleak place was this center of color and life and possibility.
