How does one come to write a play?
One of the ways is by approaching people who have experience. Always wanting to
know more about the play.
Something that threw a series of questions he started to see patterns that gave insight into
creative process to make whole play.
Traditional method to create play is SOLITARY METHOD. Someone goes away and
write and be back with the story.
Opposite of solitary called group method referred to as ENSEMBLE. Implies give and
take. One of the Ensemble play is most commercially successful play or musical man
named Michael Bennet got tape recorder approached group of artist and talk about actors
hope dreams fear and tragedies. Within second chorus line emerged for tape recordings.
He shaped the journey of the answers. All inspiration came from very real people. He

: given the heading inspiration/metaphor - playwrights did not talk to each other but
story seem to be same. Circumstances change but all tend to get to same thoughts and
playwright. That moment of inspiration get under their skin and would not let them go.
First one written by playwright out i sunday night barbecuing chicken and had black and

the best short plays of 1985. Baseball become metaphor for life. One act play called
