Explains underlying forces that cause both static and dynamic motion. Linear kinetics concerned with causes of linear motion. Angular kinetics deals with forces that cause angular motion. Displacement (vector): difference between starting and finishing positions. Compare distance and displacement, where blue error represents displacement and the red/green errors represent the path of the distance. Describing the rate of change of linear or angular position with respect to time. Speed or velocity: rate at which a body moves from one position to another. Describes the rate of change if linear and angular velocity with respect to time.
