Normal Aging Process
We age from the minute we are born. Part of the human condition is that we all grow older
Theories of aging
Biological Theory: we age at every minute. Our cells use energy to keep our organs functioning,
and eventually the cells ware down. There is a gradual decline in our physical functioning as
chronical age increases
Rate of living: our bodies use energy to support our cells. After lengths of times our cells
deteriorate and they are not as productive as they used to be
Evolutionary Theory: how the action of our genes cases aging. Your DNA has something to do
with your aging process and how you long you ultimately live
oAdaptive Theory: aging as an adaptive process. Somewhat of a negative association.
Survival of the fittest
Scientist have an interest in how we age. Can we slow it down?
Just walking dog 10-15 minutes of day can prolong your life. Healthy lifestyle, good sleep, etc.
No specified common time table for human aging
