Refers to live and mediated performance experiences. Performance created by someone for someone else"s enjoyment. Amusement: diversions such as games and the satisfaction derived from playing games. Recreation: activities or experiences carried on within leisure time for personal satisfaction or creative enrichment. You know what is going to happen because you rehearsed. You could see the same shows, sets, songs, etc. Often go to see one person or a band, if someone can"t perform it"s usually cancelled. You"ll never watch the same game happen over again. Typically don"t go for just 1 player, there is always a team with alternate players. Entertainment is the fastest growing sector of the global economy. In the us, entertainment ranks ahead of clothing and healthcare as a percent of household spending. Americans spend over 120 billion hours and more than billion on legal entertainment. It has blurred beyond traditional boundaries into: hotels, cruise ships, restaurants, shopping malls, etc.
