Marijuana: two plants to consider, the first is the hemp plant, tall lanky, cannabis sativa. Very little drug: because it resembles the marijuana plant, hemp has been banned along with marijuana, cannabis indica. Male and female flowers are in separate plants. Female flowers (bigger than ale flowers) ad upper leaves produce resins covering the surface. More resins are produced under bright sun and hot, dry conditions: the chemicals in marijuana: Marinol is also in the plant (prescription) They are fat soluble and can accumulate in the body and have prolonged effects: health effect of marijuana. Relieves side effects of chemotherapy (nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite) 1937marijuana act: a felony chance for cultivating and possessing (narcotic) 1960s use spread rapidly as a symbol of rebellion against the establishment and war. 1990sthc effects on humans became better known. Its effects to induce euphoria and other biological effects on the brain are similar to those of hard drugs.
