Stimulus moving left to right no motion perception. Moving right to left motion perception. Given circuit codes motion in only a single direction. Many variants of same basic rd circuit in our brains, ensemble of which gives us our motion perception abilities. Where do rds exist in the brain: rds located more peripherally in lower animals. Entire fly motion perception system is a rd.
