Influences on lovers relationships: past experiences, attachment, cultural values (expectations, pacing, ses), societal standards (average age of marriage, divorce), individual differences (personality), gender (gender roles), learning (from family, school, friends, videos) The most critical aspect of relationships is: interdependence (what i do affects you and what you do effects me) More of an empirical perspective than philosophical to provide more statistical and scientific findings, move from the subjective to the objective. Goes beyond personal experience and can be applicable to the general public and apply to a variety of situations.
