Document Summary
Databases are well designed you get instant results. Ability to make quick decisions about information. Everything you use on the internet, they are all using a database managing their services. Database schema: how a database is organized/constructed. How we are organizing our information logically. Records: these are what are inside the tables of the database. Records are just like rows: first name, last name, whatever it is you are collecting information on. Course catalog and every row is a different course. Fields: every table also consists of fields. Every table must have a primary key: something unique about it. Something that is unique: su id, social security, fingerprint, you can use an auto incremented number. You never run out of numbers so if every record has an incremented number you will always have a primary key. You have hundreds of tables containing different information that come together to work.
