Histamine inflammation, redness (erythema), swelling (edema), irritation, and itching (pruritus: systemic rxn occurs when allergens inhaled/ingested by, or injected into, a hypersensitive person causing symptoms in several body systems. Histamine constricts bronchioles, dilates blood vessels throughout body, and causes hives on skin.
