Vaccine- is an immune-biological substance deigned to produce speciic protecion against a given disease. Types of vaccines= live vaccines, live, atenuated vaccines, inacived (killed) vaccines, toxoid vaccines, subunit/ recombinant vaccines. Live vaccines- live vaccines are made from live infecious agents without any amendment. Small pox vaccine is made of live vaccinia cowpox virus or virola vaccine. Live, atenuated vaccines- contain a version of living microbe that has been weakened in a lab. Can"t cause disease but retain their immunogenicity so they have anigens so it can cause the body to produce anibodies. Cant be used on old and young and wreaked immune system.
