The development of new england, middle, and southern colonies (1620 71) The pilgrims/puritan separatists: left from plymouth, england (hence plymouth rock, separating form england so 35 pilgrims and 62 others (people like us) came on. Mayflower and landed in cape cod (but they could not find any people) The plymouth colony (1620: oligarchy = rule by the people, they have the actual day of thanksgiving per john kennedy who signed a declaration giving them the first thanks giving. It was actually spain who came in 1598 but they were actually the first ones to get kicked out of the running for who gets the first thanksgiving because a lot of other groups also made this claim. Massachusetts bay colony (1630) & puritans: landed in 1630 after the pilgrims were settled. Came with 1,000 people and 11 ships (but only 700 people actually made it)
