They can take steps to present news and analysis that reflect their own views both personal and corporate. Issue not only with private ownership of media. Public broadcasters can be influenced including reduction of funding as punishment for unfavorable reporting or direct attempt at political interference. Effective public broadcasting = having an arm"s length relationship between government of the day and programming decision makers in order to have an undue influence.
