Our lives are connected to each other by hundreds of threads and we our wellbeing depends on our connections with other people. It is about understanding our social connections to another and how they influence what we think, feel and do. Scientific study of how peoples thoughts, feelings and behaviors are influenced by factors in social world. Social psychologists study how people explain their own and other peoples behavior, how people influence others and how people are connected. Definition according to gordon allport: an attempt to understand and explain the thought, feelings and behavior of individuals are influenced by actual, imagined or implied presence of other human beings. Scientific method: a technique for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, and/or correcting previous knowledge (helps us test if our beliefs are correct) Hypothesis: testable prediction about the conditions under which an event will occur.
