Document Summary

We"ll talk about how people began to believe that evolution shaped this world. Darwin didn"t have the most convincing case, a lot of other people built the idea up that prepared him and our society for a really big idea. Historically, most people believed life was created through the will of a superhuman power. (divine creation) If they changed, that would imply that the creator was somehow imperfect, or not correct about the creations in the first place. Basic answer: the will of the supreme being. Some people had a further curiosity and wouldn"t accept the supreme being wanted it that way for all of their questions about the world and existence. People have been thinking about alternatives to creation for a very long time. As early as the 6th century bc (before the common era, or before year 0), there was a greek philosopher named anaximander who wrote about the theory that all organisms came from common ancestors.
