Document Summary

Species interactions: biotic interactions can cause strong selective pressures. Species are constantly interacting and they place selective pressures on each other. This leads to changes in morphology (physical attributes) and behavior: there are lots of ways to interact, competition, predation, symbioses. When two or more species need the same resources. The use of it by one reduces the availability of the resource for the other. If two species are coexisting now, all you can measure is how you resolved the issue: arthur tansley: the father of british ecology . Saxatile is usually found in acidic soils and pumilums are usually found in alkaline soils. Each species grows best on its home soil but they both do moderately when they are planted on opposite type soil when they are planted alone. When they are planted in competition with each other, the home species overgrows the visiting species.
