Culture a complex frame of reference consisting of patterns of traditions, beliefs, values, norms, symbols, and meanings, shared (to varying degreed) by members of a community. Culture as a broad concept many different forms of communities/cultures. Each of us in influenced by multiple cultural memberships. There is significant variation in how much influence each membership has in a given situation: over time people acquire new memberships, people are influenced by all the things they are a part of. There is a significant variation in influence among members of a particular cultural group. Intercultural communication any communication occurring between members of different cultures where communication is affected by their cultural differences. Low explicit expression of meaning is the normal form of expression. Saying what he or she means verbally. High cultures rely heavily on inference rather than direct expression. Meaning is indirectly expressed and assumed based on common knowledge, outlook, and experience.
