Alone or in groups of three or less, develop a research question in global change ecology and write an original research proposal. Format following national science foundation division of environmental biology (nsf-deb) pre-proposal (5 pages): The project will be evaluated using the same rubric as the nsf proposals: With each criteria receiving a score from 1-5 as follows (these are real nsf categories): Fair: proposal lacking in one or more critical aspects; key issues need to be addressed. Very good: high quality proposal in nearly all respects; should be supported if at all possible. Excellent: outstanding proposal in all respects; deserves highest priority for support. Proposals with a total score of 15 or higher will receive a pass. Create at least one thread in this discussion with an idea for a potential final research project. Motivation: drought frequency is expected to increase over the coming century in many places. Hypothesis: drought conditions can reduce plant biodiversity following disturbance.
