Righteous person: acts out of pity, leaves things undone. Moral person: act out of duty, if nobody repsonds they use force. When tao is forgotten, there is righteousness. When righteousness is forgotten, there is morality. When morality is forgotten, there is the law. What is the natural way of life: not the return to a state of nature before civilization. Imitate nature and animals: imitate the gardner who doesn"t use machines, go back to the raw material before the artifices. It is possible to live naturally within an advanced culture: trying to revive this sense in the present world. Nature is more important than the human. We"re connected to the world but we are just a speck. Like a rolling stream not a volcano. What follows the way: wu wei (non- action, being submissive: letting things go, weak: don"t impose yourself, feminine: not masculine, yielding.
