Unit operations: tasks and processes that are treated as being independent of other work activities. Manual work systems: humans doing physical task without external source of power. Cycle time variations: once method has been standardized, the actual time to perform the task is a variable because of: differences in workers performance, variations in motions, learning curve, etc. Normal performance: pace of working maintained by a properly trained avg worker throughout a work shift without effects on workers health. Standard performance: same as normal recognizes periodic breaks. Irregular work elements: performed less than once per cycle. Work efficiency: work accomplished as a proportion of shift hours.
