People need to take part in fight if they wish to continue existing. First phase of national struggle - colonialism tries to disarm national demands by putting forward economic doctrines. Colonialism is incapable of procuring material conditions which will make colonized people forget their concern for dignity. Once initial colonization doesn"t work, they revert back to old ways and set up a reign of terror. Demand for national culture creates a special battlefield. Passion in natural culture gives reason for shying away from western culture. Native intellectuals decided there is nothing to be ashamed of in the past.
