We need to do things better then what has been done in the past, by focusing on humans. Definition: a set of systematic procedures for gathering credible information about some object or process. Components of communication research: theory, method (how they do there research), results/ product, discussion. The ultimate goal of communication research is the development of communication theory. General definition of theory: a theory is any attempt to explain or to represent a phenomenon.
