Throughout my years in school, i always fantasized about the idea of being independent, moving out into an apartment by myself, and living the life of my dreams right out of high school. That fantasy was quickly diminished once i graduated highschool and realized how expensive that would be as a new college student. Instead, i was thrown into a small dorm at. Northern arizona university and was forced to figure out how to live the adult life. When my first year of college rolled around, i was excited to start my new chapter of life, but nervous at the same time. Like most college freshman, i had no experience of being independent and living on my own. I was moving to a city i had only visited once and was leaving all of my family and friends behind. The nau campus was beautiful though, surrounded by trees and paths leading to small patches of forest everywhere you looked.
