Recap: igneous - melted then solidified (need heat, metamorphic - heated & squished (need plate tectonics, sedimentary - broken then cemented (need water) Sedimentary: lithified ~ lithos - rock, which means cement between grains, water breaks down rocks - becomes ice and expands and cracks the stone, making the space bigger and bigger and allows more water, salt. Any rock type can become any rock type (cycle: igneous can also become another type of igneous, metamorphic can also become another type of metamorphic, sedimentary can also become another type of sedimentary. All is driven by density!!: density & weight are not the same thing, density is the property of a material, weight - how much of the material you have, earth, like the solar system is based on density. Density (recap: amount of stuff in a given volume, how tightly packed the atoms are, ratio of mass to volume: d = m/v (g/cm^3)
