Write a letter to yourself from that persons" perspective. Initiating: first contact with person, perceptual contact: first time you become aware that the other person even exists. Interactional contact: the first exchange you have with that person, talking. Taking them to dinner and seeing how they treat other people and how they react. Honesty with direct questions, if they lie or beat around the bush that could be a bad sign. Obsessed even, not the same feeling you"ll fully have 10 years after: don"t make any long term decisions in this stage. Now if you"ve had a long history of knowing someone and reach this stage, it might be a lot different (korinne family reference, parents knew each other for so long, dated 2 weeks, got married)
