Document Summary

A relatively permanent change in behavior that is brought about by experience. Learning falls under the umbrella of behaviorism: care about things we can see, focuses on observable behaviors. Associative- associate or pair two things together in a cause in effect sort of way. Observational- observation and imitation of another"s behavior. A type of learning in which a neural stimulus comes to bring about a response after it is paired with a stimulus that naturally brings about that response. Scientist who studied digestion by measuring the saliva of dogs, discovered that dogs predicted the arrival of food , led to salivation. Pavlovs experiment: attached a tube to dogs salivary gland, rang bellpresents food, dog will salivate if bell rings. Neutral stimulus= meaningless before conditioning, then once conditioned it will take place of actual stimulus. Unconditioned stimulus - a stimulus that brings about a response without having been learned/conditioned. Unconditioned response- is the response taken without learning taking place.
