Separation: don"t really see them much anymore due to physical distance. Death: relationship is over due to death, usually the men die faster than women. Breakdown (pre-phrase: one of the people in the relationship has to acknowledge that they are unhappy, has to be some sort of problem, threshold to move onto next phase. Intrapsychic (phase 1: weigh positive and negative about being in a relationship with that person, can tell a third party but they have to someone trustworthy enough, crucial decision point.
