Behavior - people are born as blank slate . If you are neutral - likely to see cbt. If you have a dim view of human nature - likely to see psychoanalyst. Want to support growth & help with things blocking development. If you are a positive person - likely to see humanism. A lot of what you do, you don"t realize you are doing it. If you knew & understood the ting you are doing that gives you problems, you would probably stop doing it. The reasons you are doing something is unconscious. Behavior is driven by something you don"t have access to. These factors are unconscious because they are unpleasant, & that is why the cause symptoms. Maladaptive behaviors are unconscious because they are topics you don"t want to think about. From a psychodynamic perspective, it is usually the defense that is the problem.
