Still have principles today that were invented several hundred years ago in. *intellectual property rights are distinct from land & things -> intangible but society has decided that they hold value. Property refers to the law governing ownership, dominion, control, & use in land & things. Ability to control the use of property over others that try to claim an interest. Property is contextual -> relationships among people with respect to valuable resources. Property law is really about relationships between people with respect to land & things. Bundle of rights bestowed upon certain people as relates to valuable resources. Each piece of property as a stick & the more sticks you have, the larger your bundle & therefore bundle of rights. When you have property rights -> have an interest in something. Sociolegal questions invited by property: the power of eminent domain. Essentially tangible objects that can be property.
