Problem: the ring is stuck in the pipe. Goal: get the ring out of the pipe without anyone knowing that you got it stuck in the pipe. Given: know where the grownups were and the tools. Move the tower from the left peg to the rightmost peg. Never placing a larger disk on top of a smaller one. Only move on disk at a time. Goal: move the tower over to the far right side. Problem space: the set of all states that can be achieved during the course of solving a problem. Correct sequence of steps (operations) will lead to a solution. In the american school system, particularly k-12, we teach kids well-defined problems. May not know when you reach it.
