PSY BEH 101D Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Erik Erikson, Anxiety Disorder, Insomnia
Document Summary
For this research, a lady around the age of 50 was interviewed. Through this interview, the aim was to gain insight into a traumatic or relevant life experience and the feelings she induced. The after effects of the event were also noted. The interviewee identifies as lesbian, and relates her childhood to being a victim of bullying for her sexual orientation. She identifies the strange aspect of her bullying incidents as the identification of her sexual orientation. According to the society, the lady dressed in a masculine way starting at a young age of 8 or 9. Instead of skirts and shorts she wore pants and black t-shirts. This led to her feeling isolated in school. No girls would be with her because she looked different, and no boys would either because she was a girl. As she grew a little older, kids started making fun of her, calling her names and saying that she is untouchable.
