ENC 1101 Lecture 8: Revision Strategies
Document Summary
Revision is making big changes to a text. You need to decide what you need to change. Make notes as to what is absolutely required. Mark each place where you do what is required. Make notes as to what will earn you a better grade. Just answering the minimum will earn you average. Look over rubric, if your instructor provides one. This will tell you what you have to do to get the points you want. If the rubric does not have descriptions (just categories and something like good//fair/poor) Giving the minimum info asked for will probably be mid-level, maybe a bit lower. The categories will still tell you what the instructor values. Ask them to read it for one thing. They aren"t the instructor but they can give you some idea of where to revise. Make an appt, especially near midterms and finals. Ask your professor to read your paper (during office hours!)
