After his death ensue with infighting amoing surviving generals each of whom vied for control of the enormous exampnce of land. The kingdom was divided into two ultimately. Reliance on few sourceswhich are also late. Ptolemy i conquers jerusalem in 320 bce. The ptolemies like the predecessors the persians were quite hands off. However things would change with the conquest of jerusalem by the seleucids in 201 bce. Their reighn would usher in a new movement known as hellenism.
