The marriage matching algorithm developed by gale and shapley (1962) Suppose there are 10 men and 10 women. Step 1: each man ranks the women, each women ranks men. Step 2: each man proposes to his top ranked woman. Step 3: each woman who has been proposed to tentatively accepts one proposal. Step 4: each man who does not have a tentative match proposes to his second choice. Step 5: each women who is proposed in step 4 accepts one proposal or stays with tentative partner. Step 6: continues until everyone is paired off.
