It all began the day my daughter went picking in the fields, My dear child, persephone, was wandering with her friends, When a beautiful flower, narcissus, was suddenly revealed. She reached out, but earth opened to another wonderous sight, The treacherous hades, rising up, within a chariot of gold, There to take my child away to be his queen and wife, While i sat unaware of this event to terrible to behold. Little did i know of the plot so deviously planned, By the god of the sky and his brother below, Finally, from far away, i heard the cries of my daughter. I frantically tried to find the source, but was unsuccessful. Out of despair, i refused ambrosia, or even a drop of nectar.
