Organization: axial skull & spine, appendicular - bones of the limbs, including the bones of the pectoral and pelvic girdles. Bones connection thru joints: compact, spongy filled with marrow, phases. Organic collagen fibrils, pro, fat, and cells. Clicker: organic phase includes different types of cells and an extracellular matrix made primarily of collagen. Clicker: material quality or fragility = relative ratio of organic/mineral. Bone-related pathology: bone pain, stree fractures/lesions, bone infections, spread of cancer to bone. 3 types of bone cells: osteoclasts (bond-degrading cells, osteoblasts (bone-forming cells, osteocytes (mechanosensors, sense changes in load-induced fluid flow, lacunar-canalicular system. Wolff law: bone tissue in a healthy person or animal will adapt to the loads it is placed under. Exercise: bone apposition, quality increased, muscle hypertrophy.
