Merriam-webster: a branch of science concerned with the interrelationship of organisms and their environments . Bolen and robinson: the study of interactions between organisms and their environment. Ecosystem: a biological environment consisting of all the organisms living in a particular area, as well as all the nonliving, physical components of the environment with which the organisms interact, such as air, soil, water, and sunlight. Important to have carbon in out atmosphere and to draw it out because of photosynthesis. Not many plants who can fix carbon (draw it out of the atmosphere) Not just photosynthesis that draws carbon out of atmosphere, nitrogen is also so important. Nitrogen important because it is the building block of dna. The root of all energy in our ecosystems is the sun.
