The future of agriculture in a global market. All production in agriculture starts with the soil: you have to grow feeds for livestock. The best type of soils to grow plants and crops is mollisols: developed by the movement of wild bison herds, manure and trampling of plant material. Alfisols develop under hardwood trees: less fertile than mollisols. Four best types of growing soils in order of growing ability: mollisols, alfisols, ultisols, oxisols. China, india, and africa lack the good soil to feed themselves anything other than a subsistence diet. The u. s. is a blessed land: we have 21% of the mollisols in the world, we a(cid:396)e (cid:272)onside(cid:396)ed the (cid:862)(cid:271)(cid:396)ead (cid:271)asket(cid:863) of the wo(cid:396)ld, we have a good river system for cheap transportation around the country. 1 billion people go to bed hungry every day. 6 million children will die this year from malnutrition.
