Seasonality: related to tilt of the earth and distance from equator, tundra. Permafrost layer of soil prevents root growth. Polar bears, caribou, penguins, lemmings, wolves: boreal forest (spruce moose biome) Most precip falls as snow in winter. Moose, lynx, snowshoe hare, beaver: temperate forest. Distinct winter season with frost and snow. Deer, turkeys, squirrel, bear, bobcat: temperate/grassland/shrubland. May become forests without disturbances when precip is high. Bison, kangaroos, cheetah, prairie dog: tropical savanna/seasonal forest. Southern africa, central and south america, northern australia. Wet and dry seasons seasonality driven by rainfall.
