Police comes with the docs - grandfather dermatology (be on your feet joke) story. Shot in the shoulder. somebody tried carjacking a lady and stopped it. was shot. Squad car pulls into driveway, one officer got put on life support. 4 months later came in with a seizure. Associate professor of surgery and anesthesiology at uf. 9 yrs (2003) to build and start the level 1 trauma center at uf. Not miracle workers, being able to understand anatomy and remove fkds, Brain injured patient who was in a coma and wakes up. No injuries are the same, trauma is always done the same way: airway, breathing, circulation, disability, exposure (order) as an undergraduate: Required premed (not a good student) hard time with in/organic chemistry, did biochemistry. Sought opportunities for his wanted specialty, talked to physicians for advice. Meo course is good to be exposed to medicine, (and mentored by ) physicans.
