Trump"s cabinet will be solidi ed= will have effect on global politics. Theory= has to be logical in nature (inductive or deductive: if there is no logic, then we don"t have a theory. Tells a story of why or how: ex: why do two countries go to war?, newton"s law of gravity. It depends on what kind of theory we are using: as social sciences, we are more concerned with empirical theory than normative. Our backgrounds also in uence the type of theory created: where our paradigms come into play, have to explain cause of war. Empirical theory: focuses on observable facts and data, only deals with what is (what exists or what facts really are, can be tested using available data. Can have quantitative (gov"t statistics and hard numbers, gender can be assigned a number) and qualitative data (historical events, anything we cannot turn into numbers, primary and secondary sources, interviewing)
