Both feminization and masculinization occur by 10 weeks. Dichotomous biologically: male, xy, androgens, testes, penis, female, xx, estrogens, ovaries, vagina, opposites and mutually exclusive, secondary sex characteristics (wide hips) Dichotomous culturally: forms, bathrooms, sports, language. Intersex: existing between sexes : general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn"t seem to fit the typical definition of female or male.
