MCB 244 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Autoregulation, Negative Feedback, Colloid
Document Summary
Anatomy act of 1832- provided adequate legal supply of cadavers. Temp increases, you sweat to decrease temp. Positive feedback increases the activity that initiated it. Acute anemia- bc of trauma most common cause. Catalysts are not used up in the rxn. Start at higher energy state and go to lower energy state. Min amount of energy to carry out the rxn. Name of substrate or product/rxn they catalyze. Enzyme that breaks down protein amino acids/ peptide bonds. Enzyme that breaks down triglycerides in glycerol and fatty acids. Increase temp, enzyme rxn increases, but if it goes too much, rxns will decrease. Our body temp is most ideal temp. Mostly in neutral ph range but pepsin is exception. Ph too high or too low, disrupts globular proteins. Attach directly to active site, shaped like substrate, competes. Attach somewhere else, not shaped like substrate. If cell is shrunk, use isotonic solution to return it back to normal.
