If your able to leave behind more offspring with you characteristics, then the next generation will resemble you more. Normally less favorable traits do not get passed down. Allowed ppl to live long enough to reproduce. Conscientiousness and -openness lead to more and more grandchildren. In this day and age, there is a huge difference.
