It has converted the physician, the lawyer, the priest, the poet, the man of science, into its paid wage-labourers (476 . The bourgeoisie flattens all of these professions, so they don"t stand out anymore. Burke fears the idea that professions that we should respect and hold in awe get reduced to billboards on the highway. Marx thinks everyone should be equal and the bourgeoisie are above them. Marx is worried about intrinsic values being overrun by moral values.
