The emotions are all in place by elementary school. At the heart of the character is the self. We learn who we are from the stories that we tell and others tell about us. The self is the in charge of the images. Age between 18 and 30 is time of maturity. Decline in neuroticism, increases in helpfulness, conscientiousness, agreeableness.
