(cid:863) Administrative agency federal agency created by a statute. How is an administrative agency created: creating through enabling legislature, statutes that create an agency and gives it power. Executive agencies: part of the executive branch of the govt, help executive branch fulfill its constitutional role. Independent regulatory agency: heads serve for a term of years, cannot be fired unless for just cause, technically not a part of any branch of the govt, above politics. What do administrative agencies do: rulemaking, promulgate rules and regulations. Licensing: ability who can enter into certain industries. Inspection power: ability to inspect any time to guaranty state laws are being complied with. Investigation: power to conduct investigations to ensure that its rules are being followed, enforcement, power to tell businesses that they must comply with regulations.
