Bollywood sells more tickets (3. 6 bill. vs. 2. 6 bill hw) make less: bollywood revenues (1. 3 bill) v. s hw ( bill. ) ** averages confusing in india (because bombay spent more on production than other regions,etc) 1947: india and pakistan: independence from british colonial rule. 1950: india declares itself a sovereign democratic republic. Partition: muslim migration to pakistan (hindu migration out of pakistan) *** yet still governmental censorship is still very strong. Led to an industry that was built around commercial mainstream lms; what had succeeded previously.
