PSYC 230 Lecture Notes - Lecture 25: Boundary Value Problem, Human Behavior, Falsifiability
Document Summary
The logic, art, and ethics of scientific discovery. Psychologists are in the business of seeking out laws that allow them to make precise predictions of human behavior. It"s hard to find a set formula, there is none. Just look at variables and how they change in accordance. A law is a universal statement of the nature of things that allows reliable predictions of future events. A general statement about the relationship between two or more variables (boundary condition) The notion that the same behavior is often produced by many different causes. Frustration, or the blocking of motivated or goal-oriented behavior (helplessness), leads to aggression and aggression is always preceded by frustration. Potential factors influencing the impulse to commit an act of aggression.
