Mesoamerica cont, olmec disappeared around 300 bc probably because of an ecological disaster (like a hurricane). By disappear" they mean they were as technologically active. Some believe they migrated out of mesoamerica and shared their knowledge to other population. Teotihuncan bc 200 700 ad: was on the rise as the olmec declined. It was near mexico city, a little further north. It was the oldest city in the new world that was actually planned (urban planning) and it was immensely large during it"s time. Many other societies never grow to be as big. By 650 ad, it had 150,000 living in the center of the city. It"s believed that they did war against their neighbors. It declined because their neighbors attacked the city. We believe that because the city was burned so either war internal or external (probably external: when the city was dismantled, the leaders fled to other areas.
